If you’ve been doing all the right things — avoiding gluten and sugar, eating clean, maybe even taking a probiotic — but still feel off in your gut, I get it.

For the last two years, I’ve followed the Blood Type Diet and healed my gut in ways I never thought possible. But life got chaotic. I moved into my car, lost my routines, stopped taking my supplements, and slowly fell off the diet… sort of. 

Not in the way you think.

Even though I was technically still eating the “right” foods for my Type O blood, the balance was off, especially my macros. Without enough protein and with carbs creeping back up gram by gram, I noticed familiar symptoms returning: gas, bloating, discomfort and even signs that Candida overgrowth was flaring up again.

And it was an undeniable feeling.

I felt it in my gut,

my energy,

my mind.

So, I’m pressing reset — again. But this time, I’m doing it with more intention, deeper insight, and a clear focus on what truly works for my body: macronutrient alignment and gut balance.

Why Macros Matter for Gut Health (and Candida)

When I followed the Blood Type O Diet before, I was always paying attention to the foods to eat and avoid, but not really to how much of each I should eat.

Now I know better.

What are macros?

Macros are your macronutrients: protein, carbohydrates, and fats. They’re the building blocks of every meal — and getting the right balance matters more than we think.

Why eat macros mindfully?

Because healing your gut and balancing your metabolism takes more than just avoiding the wrong foods — it takes fueling your body with the right ratios for your blood type. And for Type Os, that means protein first, low carbs, and healthy fats to stabilize everything from hormones to digestion.

If you’re a Type O and your carbs are too high with low protein, your metabolism slows, your gut gets imbalanced — and in many cases, yeast like Candida starts to overgrow which can cause all sorts of problems.

What is the Gut-Diet Alignment Challenge?
