Blood Type A Diet Food Lists: The Refined Vegetarian Diet
If you have Blood Type A and would like to reduce your likelihood of cancer, heart disease, OCD and anxiety by eating foods according to our blood type, then keep reading because I have the list of foods you must eat and avoid to achieve your best health.
In my article Blood Types Explained: The History of Genetic Evolution, I discussed how each blood type was created throughout history based on the book Eat Right 4 (for) Your Type by Dr. Peter D’Adamo.
For Blood Type A, I explained that they thrive on a vegan/vegetarian diet since they have low stomach acid which doesn’t support the breakdown of meat. Other diets like the pescatarian diet, which consists of fish and veggies, and the Mediterranean diet, which include some dairy along with fish, grains and veggies, fall into the Blood Type A Diet category as well.
Dr. D’Adamo noted that A stands for Agrarian meaning cultivation of the land. And when we look at the word Mediterranean it has the word terrain in it, also pointing towards agriculture.
In my opinion, it is likely that the people pushing veganism are listening to the advice from the Type As who experience the most benefit from eating this way, and don’t realize their Type A identity. Hence, giving advice that is not very helpful for everyone.
I even tried it myself as a Type O and experienced an incline in my already troubling digestive symptoms. That’s because veganism does not suit the natural diet for people with blood types other than Type A.
Since everything we eat creates a chemical reaction with our blood whether good or bad, it’s best to eat foods that our individual blood type genes find favorable. This means that our lectins (yes as the human organisms we have lectins) like those foods and will not signal the immune system to target it as a foreign invader and destroy it.
With that said, there are certain foods that are considered vegan but that Blood Type As should not eat. When they eliminate these foods, their health improves.
Below are lists of popular foods for Blood Type A. As Dr. D’Adamo does in his book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, I will categorize the foods into Highly Beneficial, Neutral and Avoid.
